Growing demands of the automotive world to reduce costs and fuel consumption by reducing weight is leading to the introduction of new innovative composites. Materials such as Kevlar and carbon fibre are increasingly being used in parts for domestic cars right through to formula one racing teams. Our cutters are also used in the manufacturing of automobile safety systems. Airbags are made of a tough synthetic material, most commonly a woven nylon fabric called Nylon 66. This can be cut by a conventional fixed blade system, but for high production rates and long-term low-maintenance, the Mastercut Laser or Genesis Laser are most suitable.
